Mr. Carl Rankin Green, 84, of Jackson, Ala., died Monday, March 12, 2001 at Jackson Health Care Facility.
Mr. Green was a native of Flomaton, former resident of Atmore, and current resident of Jackson. He was active in civic and industrial development of Jackson, was a World War II veteran serving as a pilot in the Army Air Corps. He was Commander of American Legion Post #84 in 1964, a member of First Baptist Church, active in Boy Scouts and Little League and had worked at Alabama Power since 1937. He was an avid golfer and charter member of Jackson Golf Association.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary Brislin Green of Jackson; a daughter, Martha G. McCurdy and her husband, Bill, of Loganville, Ga.; a sister, Dot Goodman of LeCanto, Fla.; two grandchildren, Angela Kent and Steve Kent; two great-grandchildren; a niece and three nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 14 at 10 a.m. at Lathan Funeral Home Chapel in Jackson.
Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
The family suggests memorial to the Alzheimers Association c/o UAB in Birmingham or a charity of your choice.
