Tommy Boothe was as surprised as anyone at Tuesday's seizure of his car dealerships by U.S. Marshals. But despite this setback, he expects the business to come back "bigger and better than ever."
The Jackson County Floridan newspaper in Marianna, Fla., reported that assets from Boothe Automotive in Blountstown, Fla., were also seized Tuesday and Wednesday,
According to civil court documents, Debis claims the Boothes owe more than $2 million to the finance company for loans taken out to buy cars for Boothe Automotive in Blountstown and Wholesale Imports in Atmore.
The floor plan is the money loaned by Debis to the Boothes to buy inventory.
Boothe said management at the Blountstown business was part of the problem, requiring him to split his time between the two businesses. He has since sold the Blountstown dealership and will be in Atmore only.
