Agencies' efforts to be commended

The operation took a month to coordinate and included 81 officers from 14 agencies.
They converged on Curtis Road Sunday afternoon in response to complaints about illegal alcohol and drug activities in the area. Their efforts paid off with numerous arrests and traffic citations.
But as much as the story is about law enforcement, it's also about the law enforcement officers themselves. What a tremendous display of cooperation.
No agency tried to steal the spotlight. No officer tried to outdo any other officer. Everyone was there to do a job, and they did it like a well-oiled machine.
It's good to know that we have men and women in uniform who work so well together for the public good.
Some of these officers were on their day off, but were out there for us.
The 14 agencies involved were the Escambia County Sheriff's Office, the 21st Judicial Drug Task Force, Alabama Department of Public Safety, Alabama Beverage Control Board, Alabama R.A.I.D. (Army National Guard Unit), Escambia County (Fla.) Sheriff's Office, Mobile County Sheriff's Office, Baldwin County Drug Task Force, Covington County Sheriff's Office, Escambia County District Attorney's Office, Atmore Police Department, Poarch Creek Police Department, Brewton Police Department and the Monroeville Police Department.
To all those involved in the operation Sunday afternoon, we say thanks. We may not say it often enough or loud enough but we do appreciate your efforts.
