Mrs. Emily Greer, 91, died Friday, May 4, 2001, at her home in Eufaula.
Born July 2, 1909, in Selma, Mrs. Greer was the daughter of the late Ella Robertson and Calvin Young. A graduate of Huntingdon College, she began her teaching career in Atmore. In 1931 she married Murray Greer. They moved to Eufaula in September of 1954, and she continued teaching until retirement.
Mrs. Greer was an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and she was a member of the National Society of Magna Charta Dames. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and the Symposium Club. She was also an avid bridge competitor.
Mrs. Greer is survived by two daughters, Mrs. James G. Lockard of Kissimee, Fla., and Mrs. Ray A. Moore of Atmore; a son, Murray T. Greer Jr. of Davidsonville, Md.; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two nephews and two nieces.
Funeral services were held Monday, May 7, 2001, at First Presbyterian Church. Dr. Chris Zorn officiated.
Burial was in Fairview Cemetery.
Chapman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
