Mrs. Arwilla Crenshaw-Poole, 85, of Jamaica, N. Y., formerly of Atmore, died Thursday, May 10, 2001, at Triumph Pavilion Nursing Home in Jamaica. N. Y.
Mrs. Crenshaw-Poole was a former resident of Atmore and member of Old Ship Missionary Baptist Church and a member of the Missionary Society. She was a retired midwife assistant and attended school in Butler County and Sardis Public School.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Poole Sr.; her parents, William "Bill" and Rena Patton Crenshaw; a grandchild, two sisters and five brothers.
Mrs. Crenshaw-Poole is survived by six daughters, Willie Mae Roanoke of Birmingham, Mary Hamilton, Irene Haigler and her husband, James, and Jewel Poole, all of Jamaica, Ann Kylow of Washington, D. C. and Barbara Poole-Harris of Atmore; four sons, Jesse Poole Jr. of Washington, D. C.; Joel Poole Sr. and his wife, Sonia, and Calvin Poole and his wife, Debra, all of Birmingham and Robert Poole Sr. and his wife, Annie, of Atmore; six sisters, Ida Mae Crenshaw and Lorraine Sparks and her husband, Dwayne, all of St. Paul, Minn., Frezela Thompson of Detroit, Jackie Hurst and her husband, James, of Mobile and Hattie Powell and Bobbie Crenshaw, both of Georgia., three brothers, Rufus Crenshaw and his wife, Johnnie, of Nashville, Tenn., Howard Crenshaw of Birmingham and Speedy Crenshaw of Greenville; 31 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 16 at 1 p.m. at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Robinsonville with Dr. Monroe Tucker Sr. officiating.
Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be friends of the family
Turner Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
