After dropping their first contest of the year, the United Bank Warriors earned their first victory last week.
On May 7, the Warriors scored a run in the top of the fourth to break a 1-1 tie and defeat the Lions Club Cardinals.
Skylar Rolin gave the Warriors an early lead as he scored on a base hit by Anthony Phillips.
M.J. White evened the game for the Cards in the bottom of the first as he came around to score.
The score did not change until the fourth when Rolin reached on a walk and then came around to score on a hit by Lakietrra Craft.
Warriors' pitcher Anthony Phillips struck out four of the last six batters and did not allow another run.
Twins 5, Warriors 1
The Church's Chicken Twins handed the United Bank Warriors their second defeat in the first three games, 5-1.
The Warriors scored their only run of the game in the bottom of the first inning. Dustin Hall led off the game with a single and later scored on an error.
The score remained the same until the top of the fourth when the Twins begin to warm up. Elliot Faircloth led off with a walk and scored on an error two batters later.
Tied at 1-1, the Twins took control of the game in the sixth as four runners, Faircloth, Matt McGhee, Malcolm Smith and Dustin McGhee, came around to score.
Joe Drew earned the win on the mound for the Twins.
A's 14, Tigers 1
The First National Bank Athletics continued to put up runs in their second game of the year as they defeated the Rotary Club Tigers, 14-1.
The A's Blake Pearson, Lawrence Thomas, Jonathon McNeil and Hunter Milliken each scored in the top of the first inning to give them a quick 4-0 lead.
They continued the offensive streak in the second as Brent Bell, Cody Vickrey, Ryan German, Pearson, Thomas and McNeil scored to lift the A's to a 10-0 lead.
The Tigers' lone run came in the bottom of the second as Dontavious Johnson reached on a walk and rounded the bases to make the score 10-1.
Thomas and Hunter Milliken went on to score runs and McNeil came around with two runs in the final two innings to complete the scoring.
Tigers 11, Braves 2
The Rotary Club Tigers took out their frustrations on the Atmore Insurance Braves, 11-2.
The Braves held an early lead as Tiger errors helped Ben Hess and Anthony Mathews score in the first inning.
The Tigers took control in the second as Corey Flowers and Trent Freeman tied the game and then Harrison Whitehead, A.J. Beachy and Flowers gave the Tigers a three-run advantage, 5-2, in the third.
Ben Nemeth and Whitehead kept the offense going in the fourth with two more runs scored.
While Tigers' pitcher Mitchell Brown kept the Braves from scoring, the Tigers continued to pad their lead as Beachy, Flowers and Mitchell Brown completed the scoring in the fifth inning.
Cardinals 12, Braves 0
The Lions Club Cardinals posted their second victory of the year with a 12-0 decision over the Atmore Insurance Braves.
Justin Rolin, Steven Yoder, Jordan Hastings and Cody Norton scored in the top of the first for a 4-0 Cardinal lead.
Rolin, Yoder and Ryan Chason scored with the help of three errors in the second to make the score 7-0.
The Cards wrapped up the victory in the fourth as Rolin, Yoder, Hasting, Norton and Jemorris Curry each scored.
Norton and Hasting combined on the mound to complete the shutout.
A's 13, Twins 8
The First National Bank Athletics continued as the major league's hottest offensive team as they out-slugged the Church's Chicken Twins 13-8.
The A's took a three-run lead in the top of the first as Blake Pearson, Lawrence Thomas and Jonathon McNeil came in to score.
The Twins got one back in the bottom of the inning as Matt McGhee scored.
In the second, the A's stretched the lead to 7-1 as Thomas, McNeil, Hunter Milliken and Josh Dorrierty scored.
Nico Johnson and Thomas increased the lead to eight runs as they each scored in the top of the third.
Matt McGhee, Joe Drew and Justin Boykin got the Twins back in the game as they scored in the bottom of the third.
Cody Vickrey scored one run for the A's in the top of the fourth and the Twins' Faircloth scored in the bottom of the inning to keep them within five runs, 10-5.
In the top of the fifth, Pearson, Thomas and McNeil scored three more runs for the A's and lifted them to a 13-5 lead.
In their last chance at the plate, the Twins came up with three big runs as Trent Rabon, Josh Daniel and Dustin McGhee each scored.
But, Matt McGhee, who came in to help secure the victory for Justin Boykin, struck out the side to end the game.
