The Rotary Club Tigers notched a win in Atmore's Major Leagues as they edged the Church's Chicken Twins, 9-8.
The Twins got on the board first to put the Tigers in an early hole. Elliot Fariclothe led off the inning by reaching on an error and Joe Drew reached on another Tiger miscue to put men on first and second. Justin Boykin then hit a double to bring both runners home. Boykin and Ethan Brooks went on to score in the inning.
Trailing 4-0, the Tigers came back with five in the bottom of the inning. Ben Nemeth led off for the Tigers with a homerun. A.J. Beachy, Corey Flowers, Gordon Nichols and Cameron Cobb scored in the inning to give the Tigers a 5-4 edge.
The Twins' Matt McGhee hit a double in the second and then scored on an error to tie the game.
In the third, the Tigers took the lead again as Flowers, Nichols and Blake Walker scored.
In the fifth, the Twins came back again. Fairclothe, Drew and Dustin McGhee scored to tie the game at eight.
In the seventh, Nemeth led off for the Tigers by earning a walk. He scored with two outs in the inning to secure the one-point victory.
Braves 4, Warriors 2
The Atmore Insurance Braves held off the United Bank Warriors by a score of 4-2.
Clint Lassiter, Anthony Mathews and Tim Bright scored in the top of the first to take an early lead for the Braves.
The Warriors cut the lead to two when Gerry Steage scored in the bottom of the second for the Warriors.
Thomas Wolfe increased the Braves' lead in the third inning as he hit a homerun.
The Warriors began to rally in the sixth inning. Dustin Hall led off with a single and later scored to cut the lead to 4-2 on a double by Skylar Rolin. The Braves were able to get the next two outs to notch the victory.
Cardinals 5, Twins 1
The Lions Club Cardinals held the Church's Chicken Twins to only one run as they secured a 5-1 win.
Justin Rolin gave the Cards an early edge as he scored after being hit by a pitch in the top of the first.
They added another in the second as Ryan Chason came around to touch home.
In the third, the Cardinals made the score 3-0 as Cody Norton came in to score.
The score remained the same until the fifth when the Cards' Tyler Brown and Norton scored.
The Twins attempted a come back in the seventh. Justin Boykin scored in the inning. But the final out was recorded with a runner stranded at third base.
Cardinals 4, Athletics 3
The Lions Club Cards had a good week as they earned two victories including a 4-3 win over the First National Bank Athletics.
The A's took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second as Blake Pearson scored on a double by Hunter Milliken.
But, the lead was short-lived as the Cardinals came back with three runs in the top of the second. Jordan Hasting, Cody Norton and Jemorris Curry each scored.
The A's came right back to tie the game in the third inning as Brent Bell and Lawrence Thomas scored to tie the game at 3-3.
In the top of the fifth, the Cards took the lead for good as Justin Rolin scored on a basehit by Stephen Yoder.
Warriors 9, Tigers 7
The United Bank Warriors got back in the win column with a 9-7 victory over the Rotary Club Tigers.
The Warriors scored two runs in the top of the first as Dustin Hall and Skylar Rolin touched home.
In the third, the Warriors came out slugging and increased their lead to 6-0 as Guyel Martin, Rolin, Anthony Phillips and Laketric Craft scored.
But, the Tigers proved that could slug as well. Runs by Harrison Whitehead, A.J. Beachy, Corey Flowers, Paul Howard, Mitchell Brown and Dustin Odom tied the game at six.
In the top of the fourth, the Warriors scored three more as Hall, Martin and Rolin rounded the bases.
Down 9-6, the Tigers scored one more in the bottom of the fourth. But, that was as close as they could get as the side struck out in the seventh inning.
Athletics 4, Braves 3
The First National Bank A's scored a run late to help elevate them to a 4-3 win over the Atmore Insurance Braves.
In the top of the first inning, Ben Hess scored to give the Braves a 1-0 lead.
The score remained the same until the third when errors helped Blake Pearson and Lawrence Thomas score for the A's. They increased the lead to 3-1 in the fourth as Nico Johnosn came around to score.
The Braves got right back in the game in the fifth as Tristen Neal scored on an error.
The game was tied, 3-3, when Clint Lassiter scored on a triple by Anthony Mathews.
Pearson ended the game in the bottom of the sixth as he scored to give the A's a 4-3 victory.
