Mr. William Joseph Ahern Sr., 76, died Friday, June 29, 2001, at his residence in Atmore.
He was a native of New Orleans and a member of St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude Digmon Ahern, who died March 12, 2001.
Mr. Ahern is survived by two sons, Bill Ahern and his wife Toni, and George Ahern and his wife Ashley, of Atmore; a step-daughter, Sherry Digmon of Atmore; six grandchildren, Stacy Ahern, Kim Ahern, Joseph Ahern, Jacob Ahern, Joshua Ahern and Claire Ahern; and one great-grandchild, Brad Sanders.
The family asks that contributions be made to the American Heart Association, in lieu of flowers. Contributions may be sent to The American Heart Association, 900 Western America Circle, Suite 209, Mobile AL 36609.
Memorial Mass will be held at St. Roberts Friday, July 6, at 10 a.m.
