The Escambia County Sheriff's Office joined the Flomaton Police Department and the Escambia County Florida Sheriff's Office in a chase that resulted in the arrest of three Evergreen females Monday.
According to Chief Deputy Mike Murphy, Angela Renee Paige (the driver), Tammy Denise Davison and Bonita Diane Cobb were charged with bringing stolen property into this state.
About 9:15, Monday, the ECSO was called for assistance to Highway 113 near Flomaton by the FPD and Florida deputies. Both agencies were in pursuit of an older model gray Ford Thunderbird with Conecuh County plates.
Two ECSO deputies were in the area. One joined the chase on Highway 113, the other on I-65. The ECSO was informed by ECSO Florida that the occupants were allegedly wanted on felony theft charges in Florida.
When the pursuit continued up I-65, FPD and ECSO Florida returned to their jurisdictions. Two Alabama deputies continued the chase. According to Sheriff's Office reports, Paige, the driver, tried to ram one of the deputies near the 77 mile marker in Conecuh County.
The Evergreen Police Department and Conecuh County Sheriff's Office were informed of the pursuit. Conecuh County authorities set up stop sticks on I-65 north at exit 93.
Stop sticks are devices containing hollow tubes that are laid across the road. When a car runs over the stop sticks, the hollow tubes go into the tire, slowly deflating it rather than causing a blow-out.
The vehicle ran over the stop sticks and the pursuit ended at the 94 mile marker.
Paige, Davison and Cobb were held in the ECSO detention center in Brewton, pending extradition to Escambia County, Fla.
