Sybil Merritt

Mrs. Sybil Merritt, 82, died Friday, July 13, 2001, in Century.
She was a native and resident of Flomaton most of her life. She was an avid fisherman, loved trail riding and attended the Baptist church.
Merritt is survived by her husband, L. C. "Buddy" Merritt Jr. of Century; two sons, Hurston Nicholas of Acworth, Ga. and Freddie Wayne Crow of Century; a daughter, Patricia Crow McElwee of Phenix City; three step-sons, Lee Merritt of McCall and James Merritt and Robert Merritt, both of Clayton; two step-daughters, Chris Curtis of McCall and Bobbie June Grattet of Tallahassee, Fla.; a brother, Joe Ivy Nicholas of Century; 13 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday, June 15 at 4 p.m. at Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Wallace Reid officiating.
Burial followed at Flomaton Cemetery.
Eastside Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
