Mrs. Clara Gilmore Kelly, 101, of Byrneville, died Friday, August 3, 2001, at a local nursing home.
She was a native and lifelong resident of Byrneville and a member of Byrneville United Methodist Church and was a Sunday School teacher. She was the oldest member of the church and the Byrneville community.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Sylvania Kelly, three sons, Charles Kelly, Calvin Kelly and Arthur Kelly, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Kelly is survived by two daughters, Vera Presley of Byrneville, and Lavanda Renfroe and her husband, the Rev. J. D. Renfroe, of Atmore; two daughters-in-law, Louise Kelly of Byrneville, and Carlene Kelly of Pensacola; 19 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren and 25 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday, August 5, at 4 p.m., at Byrneville United Methodist Church with the Rev. J. D. Renfroe officiating.
Burial was at Byrneville Cemetery.
Pallbearers were her grandsons and great-grandsons.
Eastside Chapel Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
