Luther Woodrow Peebles

Mr. Luther Woodrow Peebles, 85, of Flomaton died Friday, August 3, 2001, at a local hospital.
He was a native of Bratt and had been a resident of Flomaton for the past four years. He had been a resident of Jay for many years, attended Ebenezer Assembly of God Church and was a veteran of World War II.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margree Peebles and a son, Robert "Bud" Peebles.
Peebles is survived by a son, Helton Ray Peebles, and his wife, Marie, of Flomaton; seven brothers, Martin Peebles of Lillian, Henry Peebles, Leroy Peebles and Raymond Peebles, all of Bratt, Vernon Peebles of Molino, Paul Peebles of Cantonment, and Lester Peebles of Atmore; three sisters, Luverne Diamond of Flomaton, Catherine Stewart of Pascagoula, and Ruth Spender of Boston, Mass.; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday, August 5 at 2 p.m. at East Side Chapel with the Rev. Ricky Peebles officiating.
Pallbearers were Willie Peebles, Anthony Peebles, Johnny Johnson, Shannon Peebles, Carlie Edwards and Anthony G. Peebles.
Burial was at Godwin Cemetery.
Eastside Chapel Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
