Mrs. Iona Elmira (Dot) Woods Colbert, 72, of Uriah, died Friday, August 10, 2001, in Monroe County Hospital.
Colbert worked as a lace cutter for Vanity Fair Mills for several years. She owned a cafe in Uriah for a number of years. She was a member of Semirah Springs Freewill Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cullen B. Colbert and her daughter, Gayland Colbert.
Colbert is survived by a son, George Marion Colbert of Okla.; two daughters, Glenda Faye Hendrix of Uriah and Theon Knight of Atmore; a brother, Ronald McCoy Woods of Pensacola; two sisters, Elizabeth Donnie Kirchharr of Semirah Springs and Mary Nell Johnson of Saraland; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Monday, August 13 at 2 p.m. at Semirah Springs Cemetery with the Rev. Shawn Mizelle and the Rev. Tony Downing officiating.
Monroe Chapel Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
