Three people were taken to Atmore Community Hospital after their vehicle plowed through a wall of a local apartment complex Thursday evening.
At approximately 7:30 p.m., a 1999 Dodge 1500 pickup truck, driven by a juvenile, crossed Jack Springs Road, hit a tree, went through a wall and into a bedroom of an apartment at Pines I apartment complex.
According to Assistant Police Chief Donnie Nunley, the driver was 13 years old. She was ac-companied by her grandmother in the passenger seat and an 11-year-old girl who was riding in the bed of the pickup.
Nunley said the truck was parked in a parking lot across from the complex on the opposite side of Jack Springs Road. The juvenile driver allegedly lost control as she attempted to pull out of the parking area onto the street.
Nunley said everyone involved was a bit shocked after the accident, but none appeared seriously injured.
The residents of the apartment were not home at the time of the accident, but did arrive shortly after.
Nunley said the grandmother told police she was joking when she told the 13-year-old girl she could drive the truck.
