Mr. Michael M. "Mike" Black, 60, of Walnut Hill, died Saturday, October 6, 2001, at his residence.
He was employed by Swift Lumber Co. and was a native of Franklin, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Black.
Mr. Black is survived by his wife, Betty Joyce Black of Walnut Hill; his mother, Stela Mae Black of Mount Vernon, Texas; three sons, Landon Wade Black and his wife, Carolena, of Denton, Texas, Trent Faircloth and his wife, Vicky, of Dallas, Texas and Keefe Ray Faircloth and his wife, Cindy, of Muskogee, Okla.; a daughter, Marcia Wiseman and her husband, Bobby, of Beaumont, Texas; a brother, Bobby Black of Mount Vernon; a sister, Shirley McCloud of Tyler, Texas; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and numerous friends and other relatives.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 9 at 3 p.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Chapel with Bro. Tim George officiating.
Burial followed at Walnut Hill Baptist Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Willie English, Joe Gibson, Pete Bartley, Joe Stacey and Billy Ward. Honorary pallbearers were Ben Hiebert, Herman Graham, Otis Graham, Marshall Ward and Elbert Poulsen.
Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of arrangements.
