The Escambia County Professional Firefighters Association (ECPFA) Local #4101 of the International Association of Firefighters, will accept donations and contributions for the families of the fallen firefighters in New York City, at this year's Williams Station Day activities.
We will have a booth set up near the community center where we will sell Pepsi and muffins and where people can make a donation and be part of the recovery effort. This will be the first year the ECPFA has participated in Williams Station Day, and we really want to help the fallen firefighters in New York.
More than 300 of our brothers and sisters died doing their job, trying to save lives, willingly going into a building that so many others were trying so desperately to get out of. We want to do what we can to help the families of the firefighters that have lost loved ones during the attack on Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2001.
These men and women, some of New York's bravest, have answered their last emergency call, died doing what they loved, in the profession that we have chosen. No longer will the numbers "911" simply be a call for help, but rather it will be forever remembered as a date of supreme sacrifice for firefighters around the nation and the world.
We ask that everyone please stop by, talk with us and show your support for the many brave firefighters who unselfishly and without hesitation gave their lives trying to save others.
Remember and give.
