Mr. Jessie Lee Hartley, 87, died Saturday, October 27, 2001, at Atmore Community Hospital.
He was a native of Greenville and resident of Atmore for many years. He had worked as a farmer and pulpwood laborer.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, parents, two sisters and four brothers.
Mr. Hartley is survived by his wife, Roxie Lee Hartley of Atmore; seven daughters, Glenden Craft and her husband, James and Cindy Coleman and her husband, Greg, all of Atmore; Minnie Bradley of Pensacola, Ethel Sibley of Trenton, N. J., Carrie Williams of New Orleans, La. and Mary Colin and Jesse Moore and her husband, Terry, all of Birmingham; three sons, Robert Hartley of Birmingham, Jessie Hartley Jr. of Trenton and Tyrone Hartley and his wife, Shenelia, of Atmore; seven step-sons; three step-daughters; 35 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren and a host of great-great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be Wednesday, October 31, at Turner Funeral Chapel between 1 and 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 1, at 1 p.m. at Jones Street Holiness Church with Bishop Willie E. Williams and Minister Tyrone Hartley officiating. The body will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be friends of the family.
