Dr. Frances Delaine Salter has been suspended from practicing medicine, pending a hearing early next year. According to her son, Fred Salter Jr., the action was due to Dr. Salter's "administrative difficulties with the state."
Dr. Harold Wilson will see Dr. Salter's patients on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Salter said he is working out an arrangement with Dr. Wes Williams in Bay Minette to see her patients on Mondays and Fridays. Patients may still call the office and make appointments.
He would not be specific about the actions other than citing administrative difficulties.
When reached by telephone Tuesday afternoon, Dr. Salter mentioned "state agencies" but also declined to be specific.
Dr. Salter said she appreciates the other doctors filling in for her until her hearing on Jan. 30.
Following those comments, Dr. Salter began to cry.
