Maybe, but not in this demonstration. Escambia County Sheriff's Deputy Ben Roe and Deputy Grady Rolin, Atmore Police Officer Jarrod Leachman and Task Force Officer Heath Jackson visited several local schools last week as part of Red Ribbon Week. Leachman, Roe and Rolin took their drug dogs through their paces, demonstrating how the dogs detect drugs and how they protect the officers. Above, Leachman and Cinnamon, a two-year-old yellow lab, show Rachel Patterson Elementary students how they search for drugs. Students James Dean, left, and Roimon Sanders pet Zar, the drug dog used by Deputy Rolin, at left. Officer Leachman is at the right.
