Mrs. Loraine Chavers James, 81, died Wednesday, December 5, 2001, at a Florida hospital.
She was a native of Poarch and resident of Century for most of her life. She attended Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Creel James.
Mrs. James is survived by two sons, Gene Lawson and his wife, Patricia, of Gulfport, Miss. and Ray Lawson and his wife, Gloria, of Century; three daughters, Marie Dunsford and her husband, Andrew, of Foley, Patsy Cobb and her husband, Joe, of Fayette and Linda Faye and Lamar Byrd of Pollard; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, December 8 at 2 p.m. at Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Keese officiating.
Burial was at Serenity Garden Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Matthew Byrd, Grant Byrd, Jason Cobb, Jonathan Cobb, Tony Nall and Jason Lawson.
Eastside Chapel Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
