Mr. James W. Gandy, 73, died Monday, December 10, 2001, at North Baldwin Hospital in Bay Minette.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Bay Minette. He was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness and was retired from Standard Furniture as a machine operator for over 20 years.
He was preceded in death by his father, George Gandy and his mother, Mattie Gandy.
Mr. Gandy is survived by his wife, Eddie Bell Watson of Bay Minette; a daughter, Vivian A. Hurst and her husband, Barry, of Bay Minette; seven sons, James Gandy Jr, Willie Lee Gandy and his wife, Jennie, Larry Eugene Gandy and his wife, Margaret and Barthlomus LaWayne Gandy and his wife Kathleen, all of Bay Minette, Willie George Gandy and his wife, Regina of Silverhill and Terry LaVon Gandy and his wife, Debra, of Mobile; six sisters, Evie Gandy, Willie Mae Hood and Virgie Lee Watson and her husband, Jimmie, all of Bay Minette, Imenia Walker and her husband, Leon, of Syracuse, N. Y., and Cynthia Jones and Mattie Dawson, both of Monticello, N. Y.; three brothers, Vernon Gandy of Syracuse, Jim Gandy and his wife, Carol, of Monticello and Andrew Gandy and his wife, Octavia, of Richmond, Va,; 16 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, Decmber 14 at 11 a.m. at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness with Bro. John Boles officiating.
Burial was at Mutual Aid Cemetery.
Turner Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
