Mrs. Katie Mae Capers, 84, died Thursday, Decemeber 20, 2001, in Brewton.
She was a native of Pea Ridge, Fla. and resident of Escambia County Fla. most of her life. She attended Holiness Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George H. Capers; two sons, Curtis Capers and Leonard Capers and two daughters, Dorothy Philyaw and Clara Starrett.
Mrs. Capers is survived by four sons, Arthur Capers of Brewton, Samuel Capers of Maulk, Ga., Daniel Capers of Nokomis and Lawrence "PeeWee" Capers of Gonzales, La.; four daughters, Linda Scroggins and Karen Capers, both of Brewton, Georgia Reeves of Foley, and Nancy Ellis of Bratt; 30 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; three nephews and one niece.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 23 at 3 p.m. at Dry Springs Community Church with the Rev. Gene Stokes and the Rev. Tony McCullough officiating.
Burial will follow at Dry Springs Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Ace Ellis, Josh Ellis, Brad Capers, Richard Capers, Timothy Capers and Billy Jack Smith.
