Two local businesses located on South Main Street fell victim to a burglary late Thursday night.
According to Atmore Police Department lead investigator Lt. Charles Ellaird, an unknown suspect or suspects broke into the two offices sometime between 9:30 p.m. on Jan. 3 and 5 a.m. the next morning.
The burglars kicked in the back door at Angela and Co.'s salon to gain entry and shattered a window at Dr. Harold Wilson's offices. Both businesses are located in the same complex, and it is unclear which establishment was entered first.
Ellaird said that the burglary was first discovered by Angela and Co.'s owner, Angela Snider, at approximately 7:50 a.m. Friday morning.
While no jewelry or other items were taken, an undisclosed amount of cash was missing from Snider's desk drawer. No items were reported missing from Dr. Wilson's offices.
Investigators dusted the scene for fingerprints and the case is still under investigation.
Officers are treating both cases as a connected burglary. Perpetrators could face two counts of third degree burglary, a class C felony, and one count of felony theft.
Anyone with information regarding to this case is asked to call the APD at 368-9141 or come by their offices located at 201 E Louisville Ave. Witnesses' names and the information they share will be kept confidential.
