Mr. Lodis Deece Ellison, 77, died Friday, February 1, 2002, in the VA Hospital in Birmingham.
He was a native of Chilton County and resident of Clanton. He was a minister of gospel and had served in the U. S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Daisy Thomas Ellison; a granddaughter, Tonya Ellison and a grandson, Michael Lee Ellison.
Mr. Ellison is survived by a son, Sammy Ellison of Clanton; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Joyce Ellison of Clanton; two brothers, Leon Ellison of Rockford and Earl Ellison of Clanton; three sisters, Virgie Cumbie and Minnie Ellison, both of Atmore and Della Ellison of Salt Lake City, Utah; four grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, February 5 at 1 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Roy Kreamer and the Rev. Terry Linholm officiating.
Burial was at Chilton Memorial Gardens.
Martin Funeral Home in Clanton was in charge of arrangements.
