Readers may have noticed copies of today's Atmore Advance are heavier than most editions. The reason for all those additional sections is that the annual Horizons edition is inlcuded as part of today's paper.
When the staff at The Atmore Advance began working on Horizons plans last fall, the community of Atmore was at the top of every list. "As always, it is our intention to take the time and effort each year to give our readers the showcase of our community that has become known as Horizons," said Advance publisher Brian Blackley. "We always ask ourselves, So what is Horizons?' But the answer is complex.
The edition, split into eight sections not including the regular newspaper, is being delivered to select locations throughout the community besides the usual locations.
According to Blackley, it is the fruit of many hours of labor and hard work.
Blackley said the staff appreciates all those who contributed, including the many contributors, advertisers and sources for intervierws and information that helped make it a reality.
