Vandalism is a serious crime

Vandalism is no laughing matter.
This serious crime, if convicted, can come with a hefty fine and a much heftier jail sentence.
To the person or persons, juvenile or not, involved with the vandalism of our local business and cars, we ask you to stop.
Atmore is gradually pulling itself up from economic problems caused by recent closing of Vanity Fair and Southern Aluminum.
The last thing it needs is to lose the bread and butter of its commerce: small businesses.
With $250 for this busted window front, $300 for this door, costs add up and, in the worst case scenario, cause our local businesses to shut their doors.
It may seem like fun to ride around wreaking havoc on the very businesses that support your town but in the end you're only hurting yourself and those you care about: your family, friends and neighbors who call this great city home.
If anyone has information, we urge you to contact the Atmore Police Department at 368-9141.
Let's get past childish actions and all work together to make Atmore a safer and friendlier place.
