CANTONMENT, Fla. n An Atmore man whose arm was amputated after he was run over by a train was listed in critical condition Tuesday night.
Kenneth Martin Guy, 25, of Atmore, is currently in ICU in West Florida Medical Center after, according to Escambia County (Fla.) Sheriff's Office, he was run over by a train at around 10:46 p.m. Saturday.
Guy reportedly was traveling on 29 with three of his friends when the truck they were driving hit a pothole. Two of the trucks tires went flat and the group pulled into the Easy Serve gas station Cantonment.
According to other passengers in the truck Guy said that he was going for a walk.
It is unclear how Guy ended up on the track or why.
The conductor of the train told E.C.S.O. (Fla.) officials that he saw Guy lying on the track, parallel to the rails, but could not stop the train in time.
The train severed Guy's left arm at about his shoulder, S.O. officials said.
According to the Conductor, Guy did not move, even when the train blew its warning siren.
Guy was undergoing surgery Tuesday. Officials with West Florida Medical Center could not disclose information on Guy's arm.
