To the Editor:
Safety dose not cost. It pays to be safe.
Our school bus drivers prove their value twice a day. School transportation demands focus on the streets, as well as each of the students behavior. Everyone should respect the bus driver and their precious cargo.
Driving across town can be dangerous in a private vehicle. If you add 60 extra passengers, any trip would be demanding.
May 14 the PTO's of Atmore and Huxford schools praised their bus drivers with an appreciation day.
Each driver was given a certificate for a job well done, a silk flower along with a morning snack.
We are thankful to the following contributors: Atmore Auto Parts, Bell Auto Parts, Goodyear Tire, Staff Chevrolet, United Bank, Winn-Dixie, Food Fair and Bargain Bin. They helped create our special day.
School families need to take the time during the year and praise their children's drivers. A friendly wave of a good job well done is always enjoyed.
