A McDavid teen died in a two-car accident last week.
Darryl R. Walker, 17, of the 5500 Block of McDavid, Fla., died at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola after his car struck another vehicle on Hwy. 97.
The driver of the other vehicle, John W. Purvis, 37, of the 1800 block of Old Bratt Road in Atmore suffered minor injuries.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Walkers vehicle pulled out from a stop sign on County Road 164 onto Highway 97 into the direct path of Purvis.
Walker's vehicle, a 1995 Mazda two door car suffered major damage. Purvis' Ford truck suffered major damage as well.
Walker was a student at Northview High School.
He is survived by his parents, Jewel Ann Singleton and Tarrell Singleton, both of McDavid; a sister, Dianna Lynn Walker of Huxford; and his grandparents, Barney and Pat Singleton of Atmore and Jessie and Jewel Amerson of New Orleans.
His funeral was last Saturday at Atmore Memorial Chapel. Burial followed at Oak Hill Cemetery.
