Leadership Atmore is accepting applications for the class of 2003.
The program, sponsored by the Atmore Area Chamber of Commerce helps local residents learn more about their community while introducing them to others who are interested in doing something positive to benefit people in the area.
Additionally, the program seeks to impart leadership training on those who participate.
According to Atmore Area Chamber of Commerce Director Emilie Mims, the program is open to anyone who is interested in participating.
"This program isn't for any one group," she said. "It's for everyone who wants to to participate in a program that will help them learn, introduce them to others and to help them get involved in doing something good for the betterment of the area."
Each year, 20-25 applicants begin the program by participating in a retreat at Camp Beckwith, the only event that requires attendance.
Other sessions include touring local industries and learning more about the rich history of Atmore and the surrounding area.
"It's an excellent program that has been successful over the years," Mims said. "We look forward to a new group of people who can come in and participate this year."
Applications for the program are available through the Atmore Area Chamber of Commerce.
