Funeral services for Charles Earl Hale, Sr., 72 and a resident of Stockton, will be held on Nov. 12, 2002 at the Bay Minette Municipal Auditorium at 12 p.m. Interment will follow at Smith Cemtery on Vaughn Road in Stockton.
Visitation will be held on Nov. 11, 2002 from 2-3:30 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Chapel. The body will lie in state an hour prior to the service at the Bay Minette Municipal Auditorium.
A retired educator with 40 years of work experience in Baldwin County, he had served as a teacher at Vaughn Junior High School and Stockton Junior High School and had been an assistant principal at Bay Minette Elementary, Pine Grove Elementary, Baldwin County Middle School and Baldwin County High School. A veteran, he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He had been a member of Trinity Chapel AME Church in Bay Minette and had been studying Jehovah's Witness in recent years. He died on Nov. 5, 2002 at North Baldwin Infirmary in Bay Minette.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus and Ada Halle, his wife, Rosa Delores Hale, four brothers and three sisters.
He is survived by three daughters, Diane (Otis) Woods of Bay Minette, Anita (Alexander) Thomas of Ellenwood, Ga., and Michelle (Roosevelt) Cook of Tuskegee; six sons, Charles (Bertha) Hale, Jr., and Larry (Geraldine) Hall, all of Tuskegee, Bernard (Carrie) Hale of Montgomery, Darrell (Marsha) Hale of Atlanta, Ga., Alfonso Hale of New Orleans and Terry Hale of Stockton; a sister, Ruth Adams of Bay Minette; 27 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be friends of the family.
Turner Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
Woodrow Johnson

Funeral services for Woodrow Johnson, 75 and a resident of Atmore, were held on Nov. 9, 2002 at the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home, with Rev. Jody Silvers and Rev. Donnis Bowman officiating. Interment followed at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Born on June 21, 1927 to the late Jack Curtis and Mae Belle Ryland Johnson, he was a retired automobile mechanic. He died on Nov. 7, 2002 in Atmore.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Emma Jean Brooks and Lilli Ree Johnson.
He is survived by his wife, Mable Conway Johnson of Atmore; two daughters, Woodlou Harville and husband Danny Lee of Perdido, and Linda Sue Boutwell and husband Andy of Flomaton; a brother, Charles C. Johnson and wife Lois of Spanish Fort; a sister, Inez Brooks and husband Nathan of Grand Bay; a brother-in-law, Herbert Brooks of Grand Bay; and three grandchildren, Allison, Kaci and Andrea Boatwell, all of Flomaton.
Active pallbearers were Raymond Kimmons, Kevin Knowles, James Lambeth, James Presley, Charles Stacey and Jerry Stewart.
Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home, Inc., of Atmore was in charge of all arrangements.
