Linda B. Campbell, a 1984 graduate of Escambia County High School, will be showing new works of art at two downtown Pensacola galleries on Friday from 5-9 p.m. for Gallery Night's "Light up the Night."
Her mixed media/collage originals, poster prints, and original greeting cards will be shown at Blue Morning Gallery at 112 S. Palafox Place. A new line of black and white photographic images from Campbell's "Got Sushi?" series will be shown at The Pillars at 12 S. Palafox Place.
Cambell has lived in Pensacola since 1989. She began her professional art career at Schmidt's Gallery in 1999 and later signed a publishing contract with Canadian Art Prints, Inc. To date, she has eight images published by CAP. In September 2001 she was invited to join The Pensacola Art Study Club and also show her work at The Pillars. In November 2002 she became a member of Blue Morning Gallery, a co-op gallery of more than 30 artists. Campbell works in watermedia, mixed-media collage, and black and white photography. Downtown Pensacola hosts three Gallery Night events a year. "Light up the Night" is a premiere festive event that begins with the lighting of the Christmas tree and Ferdinand Plaza. Over two dozen art galleries and specialty shops stay open late and offer refreshments and special displays of art as well as demonstrations. This is a free family event, and maps are provided at each gallery location and the trolleys provide free transportation.
