Christopher William Graham, a sophomore and honor student at Escambia County High School, has been chosen to be featured in Who's Who Among American High School Students.
Who's Who is the most respected student recognition publication and award program in the nation. Only 5 percent of the nation's high school students are honored each year.
Each year, all 24,000 public, private and parochial high schools are invited to nominate students who have achieved a "B" grade point average or better and demonstrated leadership in academics, athletics or extracurricular activities. In fact, 67 percent of those students selected for publication maintain an "A" average.
Approximately 20,000 high schools are represented by their outstanding students who were nominated by high school faculty members, bona fide youth organizations, scholarship programs, civic and service groups, and churches with educational programs.
The first edition of Who's Who, published in 1967, recognized 13,000 students from 4,000 high schools throughout the country. The current 35th edition honors over 750,000 students, from the majority of the nation's 24,000 public, private and parochial schools. These students represent approximately 5 percent of the 15,000,000 students enrolled in American high schools. In the past 35 years, over 15,400,000 students have been honored in Who's Who Among American High School Students.
Graham is the son of Steve and Tammy Graham and the grandson of Sam and Dean Graham, all of Atmore and WIlliam and Cindy Donaldson of Williamsville, N. Y.
