Two search warrants executed this week resulted in arrest on obscene material involving minors and the arrest of two people on drug charges.
On Wednesday, the Atmore Police Department, along with agents from the 21st Judicial Circuit Drug Task Force, executed a search warrant at the resident of Rodger Lindsey, located in the 200 block of Greer Avenue.
Officials removed more than 500 pieces of evidence from the residence, including VHS tapes, compact discs, a computer system and video and camera equipment. Lindsey has been charged under State Statute 13A-12-197, Production of Obscene Matter Containing Visual Reproduction of Persons under 17 Years of Age Involved in Obscene Acts).
Lindsey is currently under indictment for unlawful possession of marijuana, a case that was filed after Drug Task Force agents found an indoor growing operation at the same residence on July 23, 2002.
Lindsey was transported to the Escambia County Jail, and his bond was set at $50,000 on the new charge. A bond revocation hearing was held on Friday to revoke the bond on the previous drug charge.
Atmore Director of Public Safety Glenn Carlee said state and federal officials have been contacted to assist in the investigation, and additional arrests and charges may be pending.
The Drug Task Force joined with deputies from the Escambia County Sheriff's Department and the Atmore Police Department a day earlier, on Tuesday, to execute a warrant in Wiggins Trailer Park in Atmore at the resident of Jody W. Pearson and Diana L. Wiggins.
Agents recovered items used in the illegal manufacturing of crystal methamphetamine at the residence. This is the second search warrant that has been executed at the house within a six-month period that has resulted in the discovery of methamphetamine lab materials.
Further investigation led to the discovery of drug paraphernalia and other items and materials used in the illegal manufacturing of crystal methamphetamine. The investigation was also assisted by deputies from the Escambia County, Fla., Sheriff's Department, as the second discovery was at a residence in Bratt.
Arrested were Jody Wayne Pearson of Century, who was charged with unlawful manufacturing of controlled substances, unlawful possession of anhydrous ammonia and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia; and Diana Lynn Wiggins, who was charged with unlawful manufacturing of controlled substances, unlawful possession of anhydrous ammonia and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
Both suspects were out on bond for charges of illegal manufacturing of crystal methamphetamines, possession of anhydrous ammonia and possession of marijuana. A bond revocation hearing was held on Friday in reference to both suspects being arrested on the new charges and both subjects bonds were revoked by the Circuit Court of Escambia County.
