Funeral services for Angela Rollins, 44 and a resident of Atmore, will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2002 at 11 a.m. at the Jones Street Holiness Church in Atmore with Bishop Willie Williams officiating. Interment will be held in the Fairview Cemetery in Atmore with Turner Funeral Chapel directing.
Public viewing will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2002, from 1-8:30 p.m. at the funeral home. The family has requested that contributions be made to the Turner Funeral Chapel in lieu of flowers.
Roy Lee Brock
November 20, 2002
Roy Lee Brock, 60 of Nyack, N.Y. and formerly a resident of Atmore, died Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2002 at the Nyack Nursing Center in Nyack, N.Y.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2002 at 1 p.m. at the Longmire/Jones Memorial Chapel of Turner Funeral Chapel in Atmore. Interment will be held in the Fairview Cemetery with Turner Funeral Chapel directing.
Public viewing will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2002 from 1-8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Turner Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Willie Mable
Edwards Rivers
November 17, 2002
Willie Mable Edwards Rivers, 87, of New Orleans and formerly of Atmore, died Saturday, Nov. 17, 2002 at the Doctor's Hospital in New Orleans after a lengthy illness.
Funeral Services were held on Nov. 23, 2002, at 11 a.m. at the Mt. Gillead Baptist Church in Atmore with the Rev. Alfonzia Williams officiating and the Robinson Funeral Home directing.
Rivers was born in Monroeville, Ala., to the late Herbert and Ella Edwards on Nov. 26, 1915. At an early age, she moved with her family to Atmore where she remained a member of the Mt. Gillead Baptist Church until her health failed and she moved to New Orleans with her daughter Isolene. She was a member of the Sionor Choir, Class #2 of the Sunday School and the Missionary Society. She was also a member of the Eureka Chapter 648 OES of Atmore.
She is survived by her daughters: Isolene Portis (Blanchard) of New Orleans, Fannie Banks, Gracie Rivers, Elaine Minor, Maggie G. Hudson, Daisy Bellany, Barbara Barney, all of N.Y; a son, Marzell Robinson; four sisters, Emma Edwards of Mobile, Ala., Ella Edwards, of Albion, N.Y., Lexana Locke, of Atmore, and Marian Teasley, of N.Y.; grandchildren, Angelyn Ridgeway and Tarita Newton (Charles), of N.Y; Zabrina Watts (Ordley) of N.C., Patricia Burk and Michael Nolen, of N.Y., Randall Nolen and Eric Banks, of Ga., and Jamel Portis, of La.; and two godsons, Deric K. Grissett and Perry McCullam.
Robinson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Ive Allen

Funeral services for Ive Allen, 70, were held on Nov. 21, 2002 at Pilgrim Lodge Missionary Baptist Church, with Rev. Leonard Watson, Jr., officiating.
Born on March 3, 1932 in Selma to the late Netti Lou Jones and James Canty, Sr., she moved to Century in 1946 and attended George Washington Carver School there. She died on Nov. 14, 2002 at her home in Century.
She was preceded in death by both her parents and two sisters, Marie Grace and Essie Jones.
She is survived by two daughters, Adnoria (Jerry) Odom and Shoangela (Carlos) Scott; three sons, Earl Ray (Erma) Allen, Eric Quincy Allen, both of Century, and Peter DeRandy (Bettie) Allen of Atmore; a devoted niece, Barbara (Willie) Dortch of Century; a stepmother, Alfrid Canty of Tuscaloosa; four sisters, Willie Vee Moore, Cindy Moore, Annie Lois Morgan and June Hopkins, all of Tuscaloosa; a brother, James Canty, Jr., of Detroit, Mich.; 15 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and a host of nephews, relatives and friends.
Pallbearers and flower bearers were relatives and friends.
Robinson Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
Mary M. Dean
November 16, 2002
Funeral services for Mary M. Dean, 93 and a resident of Atmore, were held on Nov. 23, 2002 at Greater Mt. Triumph Baptist Church. Interment followed at Lucious Cemetery in Atmore.
A native of Coffee County, she was a resident of Atmore for more than 60 years. She was a member of Greater Mt. Triumph Baptist Church in Atmore, where she was president of the NBC, a member of the Senior Choir and a Sunday School teacher. She died on Nov. 16, 2002 at Atmore Nursing Care Center.
She is survived by three granddaughters, Deborah Augusters and Valerie Henry, both of Shreveport, La., and Sandra Spriggs of Kansas City, Mo.; five great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were friends of the family.
Turner Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
