Escambia County High School's junior varsity boys basketball team came away with two impressive wins over the weekend, improving its record to 7-1 in the process.
Head coach Tony McAroy said his team played well in wins over Thomasville and UMS-Wright Friday and Saturday, adding that his squad applied good pressure to their opponents in the process.
In Friday night's 62-39 win over Thomasville, Lorenzo Arnold and Jimmy Craft each scored 14 points while Chris Andrews added nine.
"The kids played hard," McAroy said. "They did a great job of pressing them all game long."
The Blue Devils followed that win up with a resounding 79-48 victory over UMS-Wright Saturday night. In that contest, Arnold scored 21 points to lead the way while Andrews added 16 and Craft and Travis Montgomery each poured in 10.
