Five-year old De-Joia Gray of Atmore and a student of Rachel Patterson Elementary School was crowned Miss Cover Girl U.S.A. in her age group in Brewton on Dec. 7.
She was also named overall winner of the main event, most beautiful and best fashion. She was awarded a 4-ft trophy and a plaque along with a Christmas stocking full of gifts. She will represent Brewton in the state finals in April.
She is the daughter of Latonya Gandy and the stepdaughter of Hubert Gandy Jr. and the granddaughter of Cenny Ruth McWhorter and the late Krzeminski Roberts, Sr. and Dorothy Gray. She is the great-granddaughter of Elnetta Thomas and the late John Neely Roberts, Sr. and Orion James and the late Cenny James.
