Blue Devils, Chiefs roll in second round

Both Northview High and Escambia County High School's varsity boys basketball teams came away with victories in second round action in the T.R. Miller Invitational Friday night.
The Blue Devils advanced to the championship game of the tournament with a 77-73 win over Mary Montgomery. In that contest, Kenneth Clark led the way with 34 points while Jeremy McCants added 19 and Layton Knight added 17.
The victory improved the Blue Devils to 11-3 on the year heading into Saturday night's title tilt against host T.R. Miller. Results from that contest were not available at press time.
The Chiefs of Northview High rebounded from an opening round loss to ECHS Thursday night with a resounding 73-47 victory over Pace, Fla.
In that contest, Daryl Cohen continued his solid season with 28 points while Shane Johnson added 21 and John Madison poured in 21.
W.S. Neal and MGM were to play for third place Saturday night.
