New Gas Station Is Opened On Highway
The Pinedale Filling Station, about a mile west of Atmore on the highway, opened this week under the management of A.C. Freeman.
New Ice Plant Will Be Erected
Work started this morning on a new ice plant which is being erected here by the Nelson Ice Company at the same location of their ice storage house on Church street. The plant here will replace the one that burned at Stockton several months ago.

More Woods Fires Reported For 1952
County ranger Smith said today that Escambia County has suffered more woods fires since July of this year than it did last year.
Troy Playmakers To Appear Here
The Atmore Community Culture Club has scheduled a concert, "Ten Little Indians," to be held at the Atmore Grammar School on Friday.
The show will be presented by the Troy Playmakers, which is under the direction of Miss Thelma Godwin.

Items Taken In Burglary Found In Baldwin County
Two local men have been charged with receiving and concealing goods stolen in a burglary discovered Dec. 15 at the Richard Rabon home in Atmore.
The men were arrested in Baldwin County.
Atmore receives Personnel Grant
The City of Atmore has received an $8,000 federal grant to aid in hiring an administrative assistant and personnel officer for the city.
The Atmore grant, a portion of $422,897 given to the state, was announce by Senators John Sparkman and Jim Allen.

Chromalloy Leaves Atmore Spec Building
The City of Atmore is losing its tenant for the first industrial speculative building.
The letter which announced Chromalloy's intent to leave Atmore cited economic conditions within the aviation industry as a cause.
New Year's Baby
Brittany La Mir Bolden was the first baby born in Atmore in 1993. The little girl, born at 7:44 a.m. Jan. 1, weighed in at 6 lb. 11 oz. and was 18 inches long. Baby and momma, Ingrid Bolden, are reported to be doing fine.

Doctor's, Salon's Offices Robbed Thursday Night
Two local businesses located on South Main Street fell victim to a burglary late Thursday night.
The burglars kicked in the back door at Angela and Co.'s salon to gain entry and shattered a window at Dr. Harold Wilson's offices.
