Calvin Coolidge Is Laid To Rest
The former president died at his home in Northhampton, Mass., soon after noon Thursday of last week. His death, due to a heart attack, was sudden and entirely unexpected.

Woodlands Devastated By Fire In November
State Forester J. M. Stauffer said this week that Alabama had almost 18 times as much forest acearge burned during November, 1952 as in that month of 1951.
Nursery Is Named For Lumberman
A new state forest nursery put into operation near Atmore early in 1952 will be called Edward A. Huass Nursery, according to State Conservation Director Earl M. Godwin.
The nursery was named after the president of the Alger-Sullivan Lumber Co., of Century, Fl, which donated 50 acres of land for the nursery site.

Atmore Store Clerk Wounded During Saturday Robbery
The clerk at an Atmore convenience store was shot in the leg during a robbery at the store Saturday night.
The clerk gave the gunman about $15 in a money bag and he demanded the money in the cash register. When the register would not open, the suspect fired the gun once, striking the woman in the left leg, and he ran from the store in an undetermined direction.

Warden: No Riot, It Was Just A Fight
A disturbance Wednesday at Fountain Correctional Center aroused statewide attention, but Warden Arnold Holt says the attention was unfounded.
About 20 inmates were involved in a fight in which two inmates sustained minor injuries. Eight inmates were transferred to other facilities to "diffuse" the situation, said Holt.
ECHS Battles For Third In Tourney
In high school hoops action, the Blue Devils will have to settle for third place at best in the Baldwin County Invitational Tournament because of a 64-57 loss in the first round Thursday.
Norman Nero led all Blue Devil scorers with 21 points. Derrick McCracken tossed in 18 points.
