The Atmore YMCA is starting 2003 off with the Atmore YMCA Youth Basketball league. The Atmore YMCA Basketball league reaches out to over 200 kids each year. The season runs from mid Jan. to mid March. The 6-8 yr. old and the 9-11 yr. old league is based on teaching the basic principles of basketball and teamwork. The 12-14 and 15-18 are based on the same principles. but the league has more of a competitive spirit. The league brings in a variety of skill level players, but at the Y everyone plays and everyone wins. The YMCA will also be looking for coaches for all age groups, both boys and girls.
The Atmore YMCA Basketball league is open to all boys and girls ages 6-18. All practices and games will be held at the Atmore YMCA. Games will be played on Mon., Tues., Thurs., and Fri. evenings.
