W. A. Brown In Florida Race For Commissioner
The many friends of Mr. W. A. Brown of Walnut Hill, FL are greatly interested in his candidacy for the office of commissioner from District 5, Escambia County, FL.
He is well known in Florida and will no doubt receive the nomination by a very flattering vote.
Paving To Begin Soon
All preliminaries in connection with the paving of Nashville Avenue were settled at a meeting of the city council Tuesday and a representative of the company which has the contract stated that an engineer would be on the job next Monday and equipment would be shipped in at an early date.
Let's Number The Houses
To the editor: Ever since moving to Atmore, now more than two years ago, I have been thinking what a great convenience it would be, and especially to strangers, if our homes were numbered. Numerous places not so large as Atmore are now having such numbering done. Of course, the names of the streets, if placed on the corners, would also aid very much and would it not make a good impression on all visitors?

GECA To Present "The Fantasticks" This Weekend
Your friends and neighbors take the stage next weekend as the Greater Escambia Council for the Arts will present "The Fantasticks", a musical comedy.
Director Dayton Long has been joined by Phil and Shea Johnson in preparing the music. Meagan Adams has assisted with choreography and Jerry Janes has overseen necessary construction. The show will be performed three times in Atmore and twice in Brewton.
Mardi Gras Fever!
Atmore kicked off its Mardi Gras festivities last Saturday with the Ladies of Essence Mardi Gras Ball at the Atmore Lions Community Center. Rounding out the celebration was Atmore's downtown Mardi Gras parade that marched from City Hall through Main Street.
