The Atmore Women's Club sponsored its Second Annual Father/Daughter Dance on Feb. 28. This year, a Mardi Gras theme transformed the Wisteria for the evening.
Each young lady and her special escort were treated to their choice of Mardi Gras beads and masks as they made their entrance to the ballroom. Festive Mardi Gras table settings – complete with balloons – Mardi Gras coins, beads and moon pies brought the ballroom at the Wisteria alive for the evening. Music, games, door prizes, decorations and refreshments were enjoyed by all guests and Women's Club members.
Behind every civic organization there are businesses and individuals who offer their support. The Atmore Women's Club would like to say "thank you" to all the stores and businesses that donated door prices and to all the individuals who helped us make the evening a success.
The include the following:
The Beans Store, Greenlawn Pharmacy, United Bank and The Tot Shop for donated door prizes; Shannon's Florist for balloons, delivery and setup; Pepsi for furnishing and delivery of drinks for the evening; our deejay, Timothy Daniels; Wendy Daniels for helping us entertain our guests; Terry and Kim Kelly from McCullough Christian Center for providing the sound system and their deejay assistance; Brenda Watkins and the Ladies of Essence for their Mardi Gras cheer complete with thrown brownie cakes and beads; Mikey and Melissa Glavan for beads, moon pies, doubloons, cups and coins; Chamber Ambassador Amanda Kirby for volunteering her time for the evening; the Chamber of Commerce for letting us borrow an Ambassador; Terry Day and Shelly Williams for clean-up assistance; and the Wisteria for letting us use the facilities.
We would like to thank each of the couples that came out for the evening. We feel blessed that you chose to spend your evening with us. Thank you for coming out and supporting our fundraiser.
The Atmore Women's Club is looking forward to sponsoring the fundraiser again next year. Be sure and check the local paper and the Atmore Events Calendar for information about our next fundraiser.
If you would like to have information about joining our Club, have suggestions for next year's event or would like to offer your services for our fundraiser, please call 368-3206.
Ann Glavan,
