Mary Lou Nall Davis
April 16, 2003
Funeral services for Mary Lou Nall Davis, age 76 and a resident of Orange Beach, were held Friday, April 18, 2003, at 10 a.m. at the Bayview Funeral Hone in Foley followed by interment at Pine Level Cemetery in Atmore, at 2 p.m. Davis died on April 16, 2003 at a local nursing facility.
She was a charter member of the Orange Beach United Methodist Church, a member of the United Methodist Women and the garden club of Orange Beach. She loved to cook.
She is survived by two daughters, Marsha L. Whelpley of Marietta, Ga. and Marilyn (George) O'Neal of Orange Beach; her son, Wayne B. Nall of Atmore; a brother, Robert C. Bennett of McKenzie, Ala.; and four grandchildren.
Bayview Funeral Home in Foley was in charge of arrangements.
Blanche I. Mize
April 15, 2003
Funeral Services for Blanche I. Mize, 82, were held Friday, April 18,2003, at Oak Hill Cemetery in Atmore with Dr. Douglas Newton officiating.
Interment followed at Oak Hill Cemetery in Atmore.
Mize died on April 15, 2003 at Brian Center Nursing Home, LaGrange, Ga.
She was a native of Atmore and a resident of Lanett, Ala., and was a memberof Brooks Memorial Baptist Church in Atmore. She was an employee of the
Vanity Fair Plant in Atmore for many years and also worked for several years at the Greater Fair Department store, also located in Atmore.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Mize and her father and mother, Richard D. and Susie Hardee Purvis.
She is survived by her son Ronnie (Mary Ann), of Lake Harding, Ala; two brothers, Dolphia Purvis of Pensacola and Curtis Purvis of Atmore; two sisters, Lillian Smith of Huntsville, Ala., and Mae Belle Nall, of Mobile; two grandsons, Geoffrey Mize of New York and Matthew Mize of Lake Harding, Ala.; and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
McCarthy Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Marjorie Clemons Brown

Funeral Services for Marjorie Clemons Brown, 63, were held April 12,2003 at the Elizabeth Baptist Church in Atmore with the Rev. Dan Abner officiating. Interment followed at the Morning Dove Baptist Church Cemetery in Perdido.
Brown died on Monday, April 7, 2003 at Harper Karmandos Hospital in Detroit.
She had been a resident and native of Perdido where she attended Morning Dove Baptist and served in the choir.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Pearl Mae Monroe and Rufus Clemons; two brothers, James and Willie Clemons; and one grandchild, Deangelo Brown.
She is survived by five daughters, Glenda (David, Jr.) Boyd, of Detroit, Andrea (Darin) Gainey, Marjorie (Aaron) Curry, and Mechell (Alvin) Johnson all of Atmore, and Maxine (Kevin) Spencer of Birmingham, Ala.; two sons, Jasper (Mickie) Brown Jr. of Atmore, and Christopher Brown of Detroit; two brothers, Rufus Clemons of Monroe, La., and David Clemons, of Detroit; five half sisters, Yolanda Clemons, Judith Clemons, Joyce Clemons, Janet Clemons, and Latanya Clemons, all of Detroit; three half-brothers, Theophilus Clemons, Xavier Clemons, and Ethan Clemons, all of Detroit; fifteen grandchildren, Yolanda Joesph, David Boyd III, Kuristan Boyd, Gladys Brown, Christopher Brown, Aaron Curry, Jr., Otashua Brown, Erica Brown, Markita Johnson, Danielle Boyd, Jasper Brown III, Krystal Brown, Kristopher Brown, Kharles Brown, and Makaya Brown; three great-grandchildren, Kenton Boyd, Ke'Shawn Hernandez, and Ziesha Brown; eight sisters-in-law; twelve brothers-in-law; a host of other relatives and friends; and one special close friend, Robert Williams of Daphne.
Pallbearers were family and friends. Flower bearers were friends of the family. Robinson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Velma Hendrix

Funeral Services for Velma Hendrix, 66, were held at Eastside Chapel with Rev. Billy Cloud officiating. Interment followed in the Moyeville Cemetery.
She died on Thursday, March 27, 2003 at a local hospital.
She was a native of Bay Minette, a former resident of Atmore, for the past 30 years a resident of Century. She was a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church.
She is survived by four sons, John Franklin Hendrix of Century, Mack Donald Hendrix of Milton, Simon Lee Lambeth of Brewton, and John William Lambeth of Flomaton; five daughters, Betty Jo Kitchens of Flomaton, Mary Ann Simmons of Milton, Helen Schofield of Century, Loretta Lynn Elam of McKenzie, Ala., and Suzie Lovett of Flomaton; three brothers, Clarence and Lonnie Sanders, both of Atmore, and Roy Sanders, of Georgia; two sisters, Elbia Woods and Barbara Woods, both of Berrydale, Fla.; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Eastside Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
