The upcoming week will be full of political excitement for Atmore with visits planned by both Sen. Jeff Sessions and Sen. Richard Shelby within two days of each other.
U.S. Senator Jeff Sessions will be in town on April 22, 2003 at City Hall at 12 p.m.
Session's visit will be followed by the presence of U. S. Sen. Richard C. Shelby, who will address Escambia County residents at a town meeting on April 24, 2003 at 2 p.m. at Atmore Heritage Park in the Watson Cabin.
Sen. Shelby will discuss his legislative agenda for the 108th Congress as well as important issues facing the nation and the state of Alabama. Following his remarks, Sen. Shelby will open the floor to questions and comments from those in attendance.
"Over the years, these meetings have provided an excellent opportunity for area residents to listen and voice their opinions on the activities of our government. This will be a great chance to discuss the important issues facing our state and our nation in the 108th Congress," Sen. Shelby said.
