Odell Nichols Brown
April 20, 2003
Funeral services for Odell Nichols Brown, 77, will be held today at 1 a.m. at the Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. J.D. Renfroe officiating. Interment will follow at Byrneville Cemetery.
Brown was a native of Robinsonville and a resident of McDavid since 1958. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton "Skinny" Nichols, her former husband, Edward A. Brown, and one son, Alford D. Nichols.
She is survived by five sons, Lee Edward Nichols of Flomaton, J. W. Nichols of McDavid, William F. Nichols of Cantonment, David Lee Nichols of Wetumpka, Ala., and Charles Ray Nichols of Flomaton; one brother, James Henry Johnson of Pensacola; one sister, Clemie Klajderman of Pensacola; seven grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.
Eastside Chapel Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Verta Hugh Owens

Funeral services for Verta Hugh Owens, age 84 and a resident of Atmore, will be held today at 11 a.m. from the Presley Street Baptist Church with Bro. Alan Harp officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Owens was born in Monroe County on April 24, 1919 to the late James Alexander and Minnie Grimes Timothy.
She was retired from Vanity Fair Mills and was a member of the Presley Street Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband Theodore S. Owens. She is survived by two sons, Douglas (Faye) Owens of Columbus, Ohio and Roger (Sandra) Ownes of Atmore; four brothers, Donald Timothy of Pensacola, Lawrence Grimes of Walnut Hill, Lery Timothy of Atlanta, and Boyce Timothy of Columbia, S.C.; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Active pallbearers will be Earl Bryant, Tom Frazier, Bo Brantley, James Helton, Leon Jackson, and Hugh Long. Honorary Pallbearers will be Grover Everette, Wesley Hughes, and Bo Bergeloff.
