Brian Giles named Advance publisher

Brian Giles, 29, has been named publisher of The Atmore Advance and The Escambia Advertisor and president of Atmore Newspapers, Inc. He succeeds Paul Keane who is leaving to pursue other opportunities. Giles begins work Monday, April 28.
He comes to Atmore from Natchez, Miss. where he was advertising director of The Natchez Democrat, a daily newspaper and The Miss-Lou Guide, a weekly free distribution newspaper.
The Atmore Advance, The Natchez Democrat and The Miss-Lou Guide are all part of the Boone Newspapers, Inc. organization of Tuscaloosa.
Brian is a native of Clanton and a graduate of The University of Alabama.
He began his newspaper career in 1998 as an account representative for The Tuscaloosa News. In 2001, he joined Boone Newspapers as advertising sales manager of The Natchez Democrat.
Giles and his wife, Paula, have a two month-old son, Brady Paul.
"We are excited about becoming part of the Atmore community. While weenjoyed our time in Mississippi, my wife and I are both from Alabama and are exited about coming home," Giles said.
"The Atmore Advance has a long history of serving the people of Escambia County and I look forward to working with our team of people in continuing the tradition of publishing a quality community newspaper that accurately reflects the lives and interests of the people who live here."
While in Natchez, Giles was active in civic affairs including the Leadership Natchez program and The Natchez Chamber of Commerce.
