It is time for the Annual Miss Bambino Pageant. The contest will be held a t 6 p.m.Thursday at Tom Byrne Park.
Each year, the 12-year-old boys Cal Ripkin League (formerly Bambino League) teams nominate one girl to represent them. Out-of-town judges conduct interviews with the contestants during the afternoon and judge the pageant that evening. Miss Bambino will represent the city in parades and throw out the first pitch of the next baseball season.
Last year's Miss Bambino, Marianna Woods, will pass the crown to her successor.

Alaina Lynn Arnold
Alaina is the 12-year-old daughter of Tyra Dobson. She attends Escambia Academy where she is on the Escambia Academy Junior Varsity basketball team, the track team, and a Junior Varsity Cheerleader. She is the seventh-grade class representative for the Student Government Association. She has been on the "A: honor roll for the past five years. She enjoys several hobbies including basketball, singing, acting, dancing, and arts and crafts. She attends the First Assembly of God Church where she is active member of the Powerhouse Pre-teen Drama Team.
Sara Beth Davis
Sara is the 12-year-old daughter of Rev. Don and Sara Davis. She attends Escambia Academy where she is a Junior Varsity Cheerleader and was voted most athletic in the Who's Who. Sara has many interests including: softball, basketball, track, cheerleading, playing the piano and singing. Sara is also involved in swimming and a life saving class. Sara attends church at the First Assembly of God Church and is active in the Pre-teen Powerhouse Program, as well as the High Energy youth group for young adults and the choir and musical program.
Malori Leighann McGhee
Malori is the 12-year-old daughter of Mal and Tami McGhee. She attended Huxford Elementary last year. Malori was selected as a peer mediator for the Jr. Core Team at Huxford Elementary. She is a member of the 4-H Club. She received the superintendent reading award and placed second in the Science Fair. She won first place in the county "Dairy Products" poster contest and second place in the county "Save our Environment" poster contest. Malori's hobbies include: softball, basketball. Swimming, camping and riding horses. She is a pitcher and second baseman on the Johnson Ford Rangers Babe Ruth Girls softball team. She also plays on the Poarch Creek Indian softball team that will be competing in a tournament for the Native American Youth Organization championship in New York. She attends the Poarch Community Church.
Emily Frances Moore
Emily is the12-year-old daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Harry Moore. She is home educated and is the youngest of six children. Emily is an avid reader and enjoys playing the piano. She plays softball for the Johnson Ford Rangers Babe Ruth Girls softball team. Emily attends the First Presbyterian Church and is active in the youth group. She has participated in the local musicals: Oliver and the Fiddler on the Roof. She loves to travel.
Ashley Faye White
Ashley is the 12-year-old daughter of Roy and Candice White. She attends Escambia Academy school. She has been a PeeWee cheerleader for the past 4 years. She plays softball for the South Alabama Vending Sluggers Babe Ruth Girls softball team. Her hobbies include: swimming, gymnastics, shopping, and spending time with friends. Ashley attends the First Assembly of God Church and is an active member of the Powerhouse Pre-teen Drama Team.
Lauren Ashley Wilson
Lauren in the 12-year-old daughter of Derrek and Ashley Wilson. She attends Perdido Middle School where she is on the "A-B" Honor roll. Lauren is a member of the Alabama Junior Rodeo Association and competes in four events. Lauren's hobbies include riding horses and playing basketball. She attends the First Assembly of God Church where she is a member of the drama team.
