Volleyball team attends camps

The Escambia County High School girl's volleyball team participated in two camps this summer. They participated in a camp held at Robertsdale High School on May 27-29 conducted by the University of Southern Mississippi. They also participated in a camp at the Brewton Area YMCA conducted by the University of Alabama's assistant volleyball coach Michelle Durbin on June 11-13. The girls covered skills on proper hitting, serving, and setting techniques.
The following members of the volleyball team attended both camps: Wendy Bishop, Makeyia Burt, Chelsea Daniel, Jessica Gutierrez, Zesha James, Tineka Lett, Equilla McCall, Margaret Nelson, Shante' Parker, Shantele Parker, Renee Simpson, Sam Smith, and Elysia Wynn.
The 2003 season will be the second season that Escambia County High School has had a volleyball team along with W. S. Neal, T. R. Miller, and Flomaton High Schools.
The volley ball team will be hosting a volleyball camp conducted by the Alabama State University women's volleyball team for girls in grades 7 through 12. The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily July 7 through 12 in the Old Gym. The cost for the camp is $30 made payable to Escambia County High School volleyball.
