Tom Byrne Pool was bursting with swimmers, parents and spectators on June 9 as the Atmore YMCA Stingrays, Monroeville Makos and Pensacola Seahawks competed in the first swim meet of the season. The individual results for each Stingray swimmer are listed below.
Eight and under girls: Audra Tatum- first in 25 meter freestyle and first in 25 meter backstroke.
Eight and under boys: Dustin Parker- fifth in 25 freestyle and fifth in 25 backstroke.
Nine and ten girls: Karen Conner- seventh in 25 meter freestyle and seventh in 25 meter backstroke; Sara Conner- sixth in 25 meter freestyle and fourth in 25 meter backstroke; Lauren McCall- second in the 25 meter butterfly, first in the 25 meter back, second in the 25 meter breaststroke, and second in 50 meter freestyle; Melanie McDonald-fifth in the freestyle and sixth in the backstroke; Charleigh McPherson- eighth in the backstroke and eighth in the freestyle; Megan Ryan- third in the freestyle and fifth in the backstroke.
Nine and ten boys: Taylor Martin-second in the 25 meter backstroke; Sam Spence-third in the 25 meter butterfly, fifth in the 25 meter backstroke, third in the 50 meter breaststroke, and fifth in the 50 meter freestyle.
11-12 girls: Amy Conner-third in the 50 meter butterfly, ninth in the 50 meter backstroke, eighth in the 50 meter breaststroke, and third in the 50 meter freestyle; Andrea Nall- sixth in the 50 meter butterfly, fourth in the 50 meter backstroke, third in the 50 meter breaststroke, and fifth in the 50 meter freestyle; Allison Spence- fourth in the 50 meter butterfly, seventh in the 50 meter backstroke, seventh in the 50 meter breaststroke, and ninth in the 50 meter freestyle; Megan Weekly- eleventh in the 50 meter backstroke and eleventh in the 50 meter freestyle .
11-12 boys: Patrick McPherson-fifth in the 50 meter butterfly, fifth in the 50 meter backstroke, fifth in the 50 meter breaststroke, and sixth in the 50 meter freestyle; Cody Parker- sixth in the 50 meter butterfly and fifth in the 50 meter freestyle; Aaron Sharpless- third in the 50 meter butterfly, third in the 50 meter back stroke, third in the 50 meter breaststroke, and second in the 50 meter freestyle.
13-14 girls: Hillary Rolin- fifth in the 50 meter butterfly, first in the 50 backstroke, sixth in the 50 meter breaststroke, and fourth in the 50 meter freestyle.
13-14 boys: James Scott- first in the 50 meter butterfly, first in the 50 meter backstroke, third in the 50 meter breaststroke, and first in the 50 meter freestyle.
15-16 girls: Kaylie Castleberry- first in the 50 meter butterfly, first in the 50 meter backstroke, first in the 50 meter breaststroke, and first in the 50 meter freestyle; Kerrianne Castleberry- third in the 50 meter butterfly, third in the 50 meter backstroke, third in the 50 meter breaststroke, and third in the 50 meter freestyle.
15-16 boys: Brian Amerson- third in the 50 meter butterfly, second in the 50 meter backstroke, fourth in the 50 meter breaststroke, and third in the 50 meter freestyle.
